Jade Concierge Building - True Ocean Front (not just ocean view)

Page added 3/28/2010

The Jade guest room building is close to the second restaurant (Las Cazuelas), the disco (La Chispa), Sailing, Tennis and is the only TRUE ocean front building except for Topacio. For a village map and location of all buildings, go to the Aerial and Map page and expand the map photo.

This used to be the Opera building and was built in the mid-80's about 10 years after the rest of the village. It was thoroughly renovated after the 2005 hurricane. It is now an oasis unto itself, a Club Med within a Club Med. You can only enter the building and the grounds if you are staying in Jade. It has its own reception and check in area.

Jade also, has its own kitchen for room service - which is free to guests except you must pay a $3 service charge. It also has its own infinity pool and private cabanas. Each room has high speed Internet included. Each room also has a stocked mini-bar with brands not available in other parts of the village (such as Cerveza Sol beer!).

The disadvantage to being in this building is close proximity to the disco thumping at night and long walk to the main village action. Plus, it has been argued that this is not traditional Club Med - but kind of an elite and exclusive separate place. However, it is usually full - even though room rates are double that of a standard room.

Ocean facing rooms are all double wide suites, with 3 (one per floor) suites that have connecting children's rooms. Lagoon facing rooms are normal width and appointment and have smaller balconies than standard rooms found in other buildings.

These pictures (3/2010) are taken around the building grounds and in a double wide suite.
